The tank is stock; I was no more bothered by the autonomy than by the absence of a fuel gauge on the 2018 model. I usually try to fuel up every 150k and before hitting the trails. What I love about the 690: The torque. So much torque, so fun. Highway ride and passing are really comfortable.
This Magnum Tuning KTM 690 Enduro R Performance CDI Box increases the rev limit by 20% over the factory rev limit. In addition, REV PRO KTM 690 Enduro R rev limiter implements a re-mapped timing curve which yields a extreme Max out in Engine Potential and low- and mid-range torque. (Fuel controller recommended).
690 SMC + 690 ENDURO + 690 ENDURO R from 2008 to 2010 included. 690 SM, SM limited, SM Prestige, SMR (all beaksters). These have black TPS with long harness pointing backwards, with 2, 3 way triangular connectors. TPS THAD: 0.5 V / 0.54 V with throttle blade closed (pushed closed with your finger) AND the same at rest, 0.70 V / 0.74 V. TPS APAD
Mine gets insanely good fuel mileage with all kinds of mods, like 50+ mpg in Enduro setup. If you put SM kit on it and ride it 100mph all day, it drops to the lower 40s, like 42-45mpg. Link to comment
It’s a pukka round-the-globe adventure bike, especially as an Enduro LR (long range) version, which was introduced for 2020 with a 25-litre fuel capacity – with 60mpg easily achievable, that
I had three separate instances of stalling with my 690. The first was a nearly broken wire on my aftermarket kickstand cutout switch causing random stalling while riding. The second was a cracked ceramic insulator on my sparkplug causing it to ground out instead of the spark reaching the cylinder.
The KTM 690 Enduro R also weighs only 139 Kg, an important characteristic considering that it’s being marketed as an agile bike ready to tackle a wide range of terrains.
To the OP, I'm surprised you never said anything about the seat; instead you chose to comment on the tank and no saddle bags. I could think of million of other bikes that would tour 100x better than the 690/701.. all of which have MUCH more comfortable saddles, a proper windshield, more fuel capacity, probably a fuel gauge, better instrumentation, probably better engine harmonics, etc
This fuel tank can be used only with KTM 690 Enduro model years 2019-23. In case you’d need fuel tank for previous models of KTM 690 (i.e.2008-18), then please order HERE . KTM 690 auxiliary tank kit 2019-23 features and benefits
Riverside, CA : July 30, 2019 : For Immediate Release. IMS Products, the industry icon for off-road innovations, is excited to introduce the new Husqvarna 701 auxiliary tanks. With this cutting edge system there is no need to switch on any valves to access an extra 2.5 gallons of fuel capacity as the tanks create a closed system with the OEM tank.
